work.

A mock annual review for an unlisted Australian software company, built the way SustainTrue argues reporting should be built: every figure carries the evidence behind it, and every figure that has none says so.

§02 · Basis of preparation

Two marks, and the difference between them.

Recorded

A fact the company itself publishes, carrying the date it was stated and the page it came from. Reproduced here unchanged. Nine of the figures in this deck are recorded.

Rendered solid, in the deck's numeral face.

10 articles published, each dated by the company1

Illustrative

A stand-in. SustainTrue publishes no revenue, headcount, customer count or client name, and labels every dashboard figure on its own site as representative data rather than a client position.

Rendered hollow, so an unsupported number is visible at four metres.

A$2.4m annual recurring revenue2

Every figure on the slides that follow carries one of the two marks, and every mark resolves to a numbered line at the foot of its own slide. The complete register is on slide 12.

§05 · Traction

Every figure on this slide is illustrative.

A private company publishes no operating figures, and SustainTrue publishes none. The shape below is what an annual review of a company at this stage would carry. It is drawn hollow because nothing supports it.

§06 · The obligation

Australian entities are being phased into mandatory climate disclosure.

Under the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Act 2024, entities comply with AASB S2 in three phased groups. An entity falls into a group once it meets two of that group's three thresholds.

Group 1

Large entities

Financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2025.1

Group 2

Medium entities

§07 · Route to market

Two buyers, and the company sells to both.

ESG and sustainability consultants

"You advise on ESG strategy, risk and reporting. SustainQ lets you deliver it. Turn client data, policies and evidence into carbon, climate disclosure and risk outputs under your own brand. You keep the client and the advice."1

  • White-label delivery under the adviser's own brand
  • Ongoing revenue share for the life of the client relationship1
  • Terms tailored per partnership; no rates published

Mid-market companies

"Run sustainability data, evidence and reporting on one operating layer without adding an enterprise-sized internal team. Work directly with SustainTrue or through your existing ESG adviser."2

  • Positioned as enterprise scrutiny, mid-market resources
  • Board and assurance expectations without an enterprise team
  • Associations may offer it as a member benefit

§10 · Corporate citizenship

The one commitment the company dates about itself.

1% of resources committed1

ANNOUNCED 24 MARCH 2026

SustainTrue joined Pledge 1%, which it describes as a global movement that empowers companies of all sizes to drive positive social impact through their business. It commits one per cent of its product, profit, equity, and/or employee time to a charity of its choosing.1

The company states that specific charity partners will be announced as programs are confirmed. Nothing further has been published since the announcement, so the three measures below are recorded as not available rather than estimated.

Not available Charity partners named
Not available Employee hours contributed
Not available Amount donated
1 · sustaintrue.com/blog/sustaintrue-joins-pledge-1-percent, 24 Mar 2026. "Not available" is stated rather than shown as a zero, which would be a different claim. 10 / 12

§11 · Not reported

What a private company does not have to publish, and does not.

  • No ticker and no listing. A proprietary company cannot be listed, and the site states no exchange, ticker or listing date.
  • No board of directors. Two people are published; no board, no other executives and no company secretary.
  • No lodged company documents. No annual report, financial statements, constitution, board charter or governance policy.
  • No financial disclosure. No revenue, funding, headcount, customer count or client name appears anywhere on the site.
  • No pricing. Neither platform pricing nor partner revenue-share rates are stated.
  • No registered office. Sydney, Australia and an ABN, with no street address and no telephone number.

None of the above is a departure. An unlisted proprietary company is not subject to ASX Listing Rule 4.7.4 or 4.10.3, lodges nothing with a market operator, and owes no continuous disclosure. The list is here because an absence a reader has to infer is worse than one the document states.

Crawl of sustaintrue.com, 31 Aug 2026. An item absent from it is recorded as not published, never as not existing. 11 / 12
